Toward Specialized Maxillofacial Surgery and Professional Patient Care
The Syrian Association for Maxillofacial Surgery (SAMS) is a Syrian non-profit civil organization, an institutional continuation of the "Maxillofacial Surgeons for Syria" initiative, serving as the professional home for maxillofacial surgeons in Syria.
Our Mission
To advance the specialty of maxillofacial surgery in Syria through continuing medical education, support for scientific research, and fair, safe surgical care for everyone who needs it, regardless of financial means or geographic location.
Our Vision
To be the leading scientific and professional reference for maxillofacial surgery in Syria and the region, and to help build a healthcare system that guarantees every patient a dignified smile and a full life.

Milestones in the Association's History

The Beginning
What began as a volunteer initiative under the name "Maxillofacial Surgeons for Syria," bringing together specialist physicians to provide medical relief under extraordinary circumstances.

During the Syrian Revolution
Members of the initiative provided surgical and medical support to the injured and to patients in areas affected by the events, sharing their expertise amid major field and health challenges.

Growth and Organization
The network of participating physicians grew, and the volunteer effort gradually developed into a more organized framework to keep pace with the rising need for specialized medical services.

Institutional Transition
The initiative evolved from volunteer work into a formal institutional entity — the Syrian Association for Maxillofacial Surgery — with a proper administrative structure and official membership.

Today
The Association continues its institutional work in service of the specialty, its physicians, and its patients, operating from Syria – Idlib, carrying forward the same spirit that founded it.
